Elections Matter Now
This is a non partisan group focused on uniting with millions of other pro-democracy Americans for nonviolent noncooperation with the authoritarian regime ruling our country at this moment in history. According to historian Heather Cox Richardson, our country has been here before and survived. This time let's do better than survive and work together to build a democracy that works for everyone, not just the white oligarchs of our country and the world. Republicans, independents and democrats that want to participate in fighting for democracy, are welcome here! Bring your ideas and your energy. Together we'll brainstorm opportunities for each one of us, that'll fit our individual styles to work on crumbling the pillars that are supporting the authoritarians! 1. We have to continually stand up and sound the alarm as the Trump Administration and authors of Project 2025 press on rolling out the Project 2025 agenda and ending democracy. 2. There are many ways to be part of the democracy defending movement: a. call congresspeople in our state and all across the country b. rallies c. postcarding/letters d. community networking e. I'd love to hear your ideas too 3. Do all we can to help get democrats elected in 2026, sending them to congress so they can impeach the wanna be king. 4. Get democrats/independents elected down ballot in 2026 to prevent Project 2025 from being carried out at the state level. 5. Dark money will be pouring into elections. We need to educate and encourage voters to consider who is paying for the media messages & how they're trying to manipulate our votes. 6. Work with our swing state democratic parties in any way we can to help turn out voters sending a loud, clear message to MAGA extremists that WE ARE NOT GOING BACK, WE ARE MOVING FORWARD.

Forest City WineOs
Welcome to Forest City WineO If you are a new member I will contact you to set up time for a phone call or coffee. There are some members I have yet to hear back from, so check your spam if nothing has come to your inbox. First. Forest City WineOs group will celebrate one year in March, 2026 which is also election month. Red Wine & Blue now has an app which rolled out last August. The main purpose was to transition toward non-META applications for better quality security. While we do keep an eye on, and engage with National political protests, RWB's Trouble Nation groups are focused on local issues wherever the other groups are residing. We all collaborate and keep in touch often and directly thanks to the app. We have had the privilege of residing in a Blue State, however MAGA is creeping in like snakes wherever they can find a nook or a cranny. Examples are: Harlem School District banned books battle, but conservatives were pushed back by the work of many locals showing up. Hononegah High School conservative "Turning Point" student club. I understand Hononegah has been a conservative community for a very long terrible time. Mean to minorities and the school hallways and playgrounds is where it's seen. We need more BIG push backs now to get that America Club off the campus, before the hate becomes unstoppable. Trailer: That community has already tried LGBTQ+ oppression. Again, it was the local community that showed up and pushed back and succeeded. ICE abductions. Rockford Police Chief reports there have been 5 obductions so far. I saw no media reports on any of these. We are a social group as well as community warriors (warm grin). I average one email weekly that will list events both virtual, national topics, and in-person events which I schedule, but feel free to jump in with other ideas. We meet every-other week on Thursdays and Saturdays. Questions or typos? Use Discussion area or send The Organizer (me, JJ) a message. Again, Welcome! JJ

NJ Voters Want More Say
We are nonpartisan group of citizens focused on reforms to make the political process more responsive to New Jersey voters for better government. Members are from Camden, Burlington, and Gloucester counties primarily. New Jersey voters are dissatisfied and disengaged with politics in our state. We successfully fought with the statewide coalition Fair Ballot Alliance for Fair Ballots for 2024 US Senate primary elections to lay groundwork for the successful federal lawsuit that ended the 'county line'. There's more to be done in NJ and nationally with the new onset of political turmoil. We are launching anew on the Trouble Nation platform now in January 2025, initially on Zoom then hybrid with in person meetings. We'll decide what our primary focus points will be in our initial meeting date TBA. Options: 1) Here in New Jersey, the 2025 primary elections will actually be determined more by candidates connecting with voters, instead of pleasing unelected county party chairpersons. That poses a great opportunity to educate NJ voters on our new power to determine who wins primary elections. 2) There has been a disappointing capitulation of long respected news outlets to a much more biased coverage of news. We can collect & share resources of balanced, truthful news coverage to counter misinformation and disinformation. 3) There are several new entities formed in order to defend democracy from a cross-partisan standpoint. We can use their resources to plan our efforts and actions. One of these reports is linked in op-ed "American democracy is in crisis. We have a playbook to defend it" written by two scholars from the Brookings Institute, source of the original Marshall plan to rebuild democracy for Europe after WW II, Norm Eisen and Jonathan Katz use the experiences of Brazil and Poland to fend off the backsliding in their democracies. https://www.msnbc.com/opinion/msnbc-opinion/trump-democracy-crisis-brazil-poland-rcna188134

Wake Public School Advocates
Join public school advocates in Wake County to collaborate on support for public schools. Currently we attend school board meetings and follow school board work sessions. We work in collaboration with pro-public school groups and individuals to inform our local school board about issues that are of concern to students, families and citizens in our county. We are nonpartisan, but support candidates who are public school advocates and advocate for legislation that will positively impact public schools. Training is encouraged for effective advocacy. We are fortunate to have many public school advocacy groups in our county who have training and resources. Connecting with members within these groups makes our impact stronger.
