Downtown Nasty Women Social Group
We are a grassroots activist group, established in NYC in the aftermath of the 2016 election, dedicated to increasing voter participation, electing Democrats nationwide, and shifting the balance of power to improve lives. Our activist efforts include GOTV initiatives, fundraising, hosting elected officials, partnering with activist groups on weekly zoom calls, postcard writing, canvassing, phone banking, and other electoral and issue-based organizing. We send out a weekly newsletter to over 1400 people nationwide, featuring facts, actions, meeting alerts and information about national and NY policy/politics. Based in Endwell NY - Hindsighters are a goodwill advocacy group dedicated to bringing hope and relief to our neighbors. We seek to reconcile divisions and to be a voice for social, political, economic and environmental reform. We believe that by reflecting on past mistakes, learning from history, and engaging in nuanced dialogue, we can build a more balanced, informed and united society. Our mission is to bridge divides, challenge destructive ideologies and promote meaningful change rooted in wisdom, empathy and common ground while remaining "Joyful in Hope, Patient in affliction and Faithful in Prayer"! We are meeting once a month- our meetings have different themes with fun interactive activities, old/new business, political issues, local rallies and events, and ways to get involved. We are a TroubleNation group in process of being newly formed in Wolfeboro,NH. Our continued areas of interest include reproductive rights, redistricting reform, school boards, voter suppression, civic engagement (especially in under-represented groups), supporting progressive candidates whose gerrymandered districts cross county or community lines, redistricting reform.
