WADEIn Illinois - Formerly SWEEP Illinois
WADE In Illinois is more than a group—it's a movement fueled by purpose, passion, and the power of community. Our mission is simple yet deeply impactful: to connect, empower, and inspire individuals across the state to take meaningful action toward positive, lasting change. We believe that every voice matters and that collective action starts with individual commitment. Whether you're just beginning your civic journey or have been advocating for years, there is a place for you here. We welcome people from all walks of life who are united by a shared vision of equity, justice, and democratic values. Through educational events, grassroots organizing, community outreach, and open dialogue, we provide a platform where ideas can flourish, voices can be amplified, and real progress can take root. Whether you're here to learn, share your perspective, or contribute your energy to building a stronger, more inclusive Illinois, you'll find a vibrant and supportive community ready to stand with you. Together, we are reshaping what democracy looks like—one conversation, one action, and one empowered individual at a time. We are most active on our Facebook page. GRIT
Welcome to G.R.I.T. Greater Rochester Integrity & Truth. A Community for Democracy. OUR NAME Stands for a variety of words, heralded by the determination and grit we'll need to protect democracy. ABOUT US Our grassroots group connects like-minded people in the Greater Rochester, NY community who want to work with others to protect our democracy on the local, state and national levels. WHO WE ARE We are everyday people from all backgrounds, of all ages and all persuasions with the same resolve to make America greater than we've been. An America for ALL the people, by the people. OUR MISSION 1. Support Community. A safe space where we can… sort through disinformation together, navigate how to have fact-based conversations with others, and shed our feelings of helplessness and outrage. A place where we are shored up just in knowing that we're not alone. 2. Seek Knowledge. To better understand this political landscape, we share fact-based information and resources and host a variety of smart speakers. 3. Take Action. Sometimes small, sometimes big. From postcards and canvassing to calls and protests—and everything in between. HOW DO WE CONNECT We meet in person for real conversations and actions every other Monday in Fairport Village. Our best and primary form of communication is via a blind email list that we do not share. PLEASE MESSAGE US WITH YOUR EMAIL IF YOU WANT TO BE ADDED. You can also find us on these platforms: FaceBook — https://www.facebook.com/groups/1261259318375662 BlueSky — @grit-roc.bsky.social Red, Wine & Blue — https://redwineblue.controlshift.app/groups/grit We are an independent group but also part of Red, Wine & Blue's grassroots Trouble Nation community so we have access to workshops and tools to help us in our efforts.
