Wake Public School Advocates
Join public school advocates in Wake County to collaborate on support for public schools. Currently we attend school board meetings and follow school board work sessions. We work in collaboration with pro-public school groups and individuals to inform our local school board about issues that are of concern to students, families and citizens in our county. We are nonpartisan, but support candidates who are public school advocates and advocate for legislation that will positively impact public schools. Training is encouraged for effective advocacy. We are fortunate to have many public school advocacy groups in our county who have training and resources. Connecting with members within these groups makes our impact stronger. Public School Strong is a NC statewide collaboration in support of honest, accurate, equitable, safe and fully funded public education. #PublicSchoolStrong is an initiative of HEAL Together NC and Down Home NC. Our goal is to get parents, students, teachers, and community members involved at public school advocacy in all 100 of North Carolina’s counties.

Tava Mountain Collective - Southern Colorado
We are an experienced team of organizers with leadership in multiple locales around Colorado Springs and beyond. We chose the original name Tava Mountain (aka Pikes Peak) as an act of decolonization to honor and make visible the indigenous peoples of this region. Our goal is to be a hub of education and empowerment as we fight against extremism in Southern Colorado. If you live in Colorado Springs, Woodland Park, Cascade, Manitou Springs, Monument, Pueblo, Canon City or Penrose this group is for you. Small groups may choose meet in different locales around the region, but this is a Mother Group which can provide leadership and education as needed. We will work to have collective gatherings in person (and on Zoom when needed) for inspiration and support. We are excited about the possibilities for our region!
