Hope and Cookies: Defending Democracy One Cookie at a Time
We believe that the best way to defend our democracy is with knowledge, and the best way to help is by providing caring people with information. Hope and Cookies hosts house parties where we share information about Project 2025 and other threats to our freedom. We want to give our members the confidence to talk to their friends and neighbors (or even total strangers) in a way that will make a difference. Come for dessert and leave empowered!

We connect community members who want to protect our democracy, reject extremism, and promote respectful, fact-based, and nuanced discussion. We seek transparency in the government and work to change the current hateful binary we see in the news. We empower each other by sharing tools for peaceful advocacy and impactful action. We welcome neighbors of all political backgrounds, identities, and religious views. We model the values and behaviors we hope to see from our leaders, neighbors, and children.

Bonfire Massachusetts - Cambridge/Strawberry Hill
This Bonfire is for women who live in Cambridge's Strawberry Hill neighborhood (including Aberdeen & Homer Ave). We are keeping this group hyper-local, bringing us together for monthly in person gatherings in our living rooms, backyards, community center, cafes, etc... The goal of this Bonfire is to create connection and a felt sense of community in our little corner of Cambridge. In addition to monthly gatherings focused on personal, professional, and civic engagement, we also share resources and opportunities like taking care of the bike path, heading out for dancing, collecting food donations, neighborly advice, etc.... If you are looking for connection and joy, seeking inspiration or have some to share, we have a seat by our fire for you. Bonfire was created for women of all ages and backgrounds, but is not exclusive to women. Created in partnership with the Red Wine & Blue Network, Bonfire groups are local communities led by volunteer organizers who want to bring people together where they live. The RWB Network provides the tools, training, and support to help these groups grow and thrive — while keeping community building at the center. As a sober person, the head of the Strawberry Hill Bonfire does not like having the word "wine" involved with the name of this organization, but understands it's origins and why it is being used. Please know our monthly Bonfire gatherings are alcohol free.
