Supporters of Spotsylvania Public Schools

We are a non-partisan group dedicated to supporting the Spotsylvania Public School students, faculty and staff by helping to elect local school board and board of supervisor candidates that will support them. In 2023, we successfully helped to get three brand new women and one incumbent woman elected to our school board to overturn a majority pushing book bans and other right-wing agendas.

Triad Actioneers of the Piedmont

Our local group will connect badass women in our community who want to work with others who share their values to protect democracy on the local, state, and national levels. With numerous battles being fought regarding topics important to women throughout the state of NC, Triad Actioneers formed in the Spring of 2023 to offer a central location for information sharing. Our members find it difficult to keep up with all of the information on each of the important topics. We are frustrated that we do not know how, and when, to take action for greater impact regarding a hot topic. To alleviate frustration and develop action that will make a positive change, our team has committed to providing summaries of current happenings and immediately NEEDED ACTIONS for the following topics: Education School Budget School Vouchers BOE Updates Freedom to Parent Trans Initiatives Reproductive Health Please join our group of badass women who WILL make a difference in protecting our democracy. Reading the Resistance

Welcome to Reading the Resistance, a local group dedicated to fostering meaningful change and empowering individuals who want to actively resist the harmful impacts of the Trump administration. Through a combination of decompression events, book discussions, and educational resources, we aim to create a supportive space where like-minded individuals can come together to learn, share, and take action. Our book club will focus on reading and discussing books from the banned book list, exploring themes of freedom, justice, and resistance. By reading these essential works, we encourage critical thinking, open dialogue, and a deeper understanding of the values we must protect. In addition to our book club, we will provide resources to help members stay informed and get involved in local activism. We'll share information on local representatives, provide strategies for effective advocacy, and discuss ways to take action in our communities to resist injustice and oppression. Join us as we stand together, read critically, and fight for the future we believe in.
