NHC Educational Justice

Our Mission Statement: NHC Educational Justice is a group of activists who champion honest and open policy and decision-making within our schools to promote a safe, quality and equitable education for all. We attend all New Hanover County school board meetings and most school board committee meetings - either in person or virtually. We communicate key discussion topics and issues to the community through our FB page - https://www.facebook.com/NHCEJ/ - and engage our local community through various call to actions (email campaigns, petitions, etc). We also assist our community through various levels of support - including speaking on behalf of staff at board meetings, assisting parents through the IEP and/or complaint process, amplifying voices of community members and other organizations, etc. We are a small group of 6 women who are parents and/or retired NHCS educators and we are passionate about strengthening and investing into our public schools. We want to connect with other like minded local community members as we expand the work we do.

News Not Noise-Ballard Families for Democracy (BFFD)

News Not Noise groups bring our community together in person — to connect, share meaningful conversation, and build real relationships with others who value staying informed without the noise. Created in partnership with Red Wine & Blue (RWB), these small, local groups are led by News Not Noise subscribers who want to bring the spirit of this community to life where they live. Welcome to our News Not Noise-Ballard Families for Democracy (BFFD) group! We are a small group of families in NW Seattle/Ballard neighborhood who want to make political engagement accessible and enjoyable for ourselves and neighbors. BFFD Goals: -Strengthen connections in our community -Share trusted sources of information -Engage in local and national democracy All in a way that is accessible to parents & families. We’re here to make staying informed and engaged easier, not overwhelming. Together, we share trustworthy news, have meaningful conversations, and take local action that strengthens our democracy. Our group joined Red Wine & Blue/Trouble Nation because we follow News Not Noise for trusted information without a panic attack.

Fresno/Clovis Eyes Open

Central Valley conservatives are pushing for book banning and Anti LGBTQ Rights. We need a place where like-minded humans can come together for support and build creative actions to stop this conservative takeover here.

Warriors For Democracy - We're Not Going Back

After we dust ourselves off and shed our last tears, let's regroup and come together to keep fighting for our democracy and our values. We can continue to make our voices heard. With so much out of our control on a bigger scale, let's keep focused on what we can do locally. Let's keep the record of our true history so we can pass it on to the next generation. Let's find a way to be the shining lights to help us all navigate through this darkness.
