Women Defending Democracy-Western Fairfax

Women Defending Democracy – Western Fairfax brings together women who want to be informed, engaged, and intentional about their role as voters. We focus on understanding the policies, issues, and decisions that impact our daily lives—and turning that knowledge into action. Our members don’t just pay attention—we participate, organize, and vote with purpose. We learn from experts, gather in person and online, and equip each other with practical ways to take action—whether that’s advocating on key issues, supporting candidates, or mobilizing our communities. This is where information turns into momentum. The future of our democracy will be shaped by women who show up, get informed, stay engaged, and mobilize—and we intend to be those women. (The group is open to everyone, regardless of location; in-person events will be held in rotating locations around Western Fairfax - Burke, Centerville, Chantilly, Clifton, Fairfax, Fairfax Station, Herndon, Merrifield, Oakton, Reston, Tysons and Vienna)

Civic Circle of the Pioneer Valley

Civic Circle of the Pioneer Valley seeks to bring local women together to build social connection and mutual support as we live our values and work collectively to bring about meaningful change in our society. So many of us give so much--to our communities, to our workplaces, and to the causes we care about--that we forget to recharge our own batteries and remember what motivates and inspires us. Created in partnership with the Red Wine & Blue (RWB) Network, groups like these are local communities led by volunteer organizers who want to bring people together where they live. The RWB Network provides the tools, training, and support to help these groups grow and thrive — while keeping community building at the center.

Community412

At Community412, COMMUNITY is key. We gather because we know we can’t get through difficult times alone. We may not always share the same views but we share basic values – anti-extremism, pro-democracy, and pro-civil rights. We focus on what we CAN do. We are not an "activist" group -- everyone decides for themselves what they care most about and feel comfortable doing. We strive to provide a safe, non-judgmental space to share thoughts and ideas because we believe it is uplifting to learn what folks are doing to try to have an impact, no matter how small.

Building Community in the Copper Country

Hello, friends! We have a very active community here in the Keweenaw/Copper Country. My goal is to help create a community that uplifts and protects everyone. I want to make community information more accessible and to encourage everyone to get out there and get involved. I will work with any local progressive groups to create a centralized "hub" of information and events. The core values of this page are: Help fight corruption by building community. Many people feel powerless right now when we look at the big picture. But through local government and organization, we have the best way to make a real impact. Joy is resistance. We need to rest, and love, and have fun. We can not make it through hard times without it and without each other. Community means helping and protecting our neighbors. To do that, we need to KNOW our neighbors. Similarily, this is a safe space for everyone. But, that does not include hate, bullying, misinformation, or bigotry.
