Trans Minors Rights

Our goal is to empower transgender youth by educating our communities on issues facing young transgender people and providing youth with the knowledge and tools they need to combat gender dysphoria. Our focus is on advocacy across the state of Pennsylvania, but we hope to grow into surrounding states! Our communities are currently largest in Lancaster, Berks, and surrounding counties in PA. Join us to help educate doctors and teachers on trans care, provide gender-affirming products to trans youth, and talk to lawmakers about creating robust policies to protect trans and gender-nonconforming youth.

Eat, Drink and Protect Democracy

Eat, Drink and Protect Democracy Based in Salem, Oregon, the focus of this group is to support one another as we monitor and respond to state (and national) threats to democracy that restrict civil and human rights. Each meeting will begin with informal networking over wine (no hard alcohol) or N/A drinks, move into a potluck dinner and end with a formal meeting. If you just need to vent, this is not the right group for you. The goal is to support one another but also hold one another accountable for doing our part to protect democracy. The formal meeting will entail: 1. Headspace check-in and accounting of last month’s commitments. (5m per participant). 2. Review the Democracy Watch (https://www.democracywatchtracker.com/search?q=oregon) legislative tracker to identify an issue that we want to address as a collective (only when the last issue was thoroughly addressed). The host may also invite a guest speaker to extrapolate on an ongoing issue. A second option is to pursue your own actions then report on them. 3. Otherwise, we will collectively divide tasks which will require each individual to step up. This might entail making calls, visits /writing letters to reps, testimony and/or participation in a protest to address the issue while recognizing that some issues may take more than one month to address. 4. The meeting will end with a quick discussion on what did the preceding month to support the protection of civil/human rights. New members unknown to anyone in the group will receive an invitation for a meet and greet at a local coffee shop. The point of this group is to support and hold each member accountable for actions taken to protect democracy. Host Provides: 1. A clean, comfortable venue for the monthly events. (max capacity: 14). 2. Plates and silverware. 3. Cleaning of glasses/plates/silverware. 4. Filtered water and glasses. Requirements: 1. You are willing and able to do SOMETHING to protect democracy. 2. You are accepting and open to diverse viewpoints that align with democratic principles. 3. You are willing to bring a dish to share and, if you wish, some extra to share for those who are struggling 4. A bag to haul your personal dirty serving dishes/utensils. 5.. Drinks other than water (no hard alcohol) and, if you wish, some extra to share for those who are struggling.
