NW Stronger Together

We are a local group of activists in the mostly NE Portland Metro area, but have held events where anyone from anywhere can join. We are continually evolving as the chaos shifts. We quickly became focused on immigration issues as that seemed (and still seems) a pressing and urgent issue. We've held a movie event (Borderland) and a KYR training. We plan to hold other training events in the future. We're also concerned about all other issues that impact all of our rights including abortion rights, common sense gun laws, LGBTQ+ rights, disability rights, environmental issues, women's rights, constitutional issues, democracy, etc. We go to protests, hold meetings and events, share information, etc. Please join us in this resistance!

Mischief Makers of Merit: Illuminating Truth Through Good Trouble

What We Stand For We stand for truth in an era of confusion. In Michigan's Upper Peninsula, we believe every community deserves access to factual information free from manipulation. We stand against deliberate disinformation that divides communities and prevents informed civic participation. We are committed to illuminating truth, especially when powerful interests prefer shadows. Our Core Values Truth Above All: We pursue facts relentlessly, letting evidence guide us regardless of political convenience or prevailing narratives. Constructive Disruption: We embrace "good trouble" as necessary for change. When systems perpetuate misinformation, we disrupt respectfully but firmly. Community Empowerment: We believe an informed UP is a stronger UP. Our work aims to equip our neighbors with tools to recognize manipulation and make decisions based on facts. Intellectual Humility: We acknowledge the complexity of truth. We remain open to new evidence, willing to revise our understanding, and committed to nuance over-simplification. Courageous Transparency: We operate with openness about our methods and motivations, inviting scrutiny of our own work as we scrutinize others'. Creativity in Communication: We use innovative, engaging approaches to make complex information accessible to all community members. Why It Matters Misinformation isn't just a nuisance—it's a threat to our community's well-being. When people make decisions based on falsehoods: Local policies fail to address real needs Neighbors turn against neighbors over manufactured divisions Resources flow to problems that don't exist while genuine challenges go unaddressed Democracy itself weakens as informed voting becomes impossible Here in the UP, our tight-knit communities depend on trust and shared understanding. By illuminating truth through good trouble, we strengthen the foundations of our democracy, protect vulnerable community members from manipulation, and create space for genuine dialogue about our shared future. We believe that by standing firmly for truth—with both mischief and merit—we help create an Upper Peninsula where facts matter, people engage meaningfully in civic life, and communities thrive on common ground. Raeford Troublemakers

We’re a group of local women and allies in Raeford, NC, organizing around issues that impact our families, schools, and communities. Rooted in care, equity, and common sense, we believe in standing up for what’s right — even when it’s uncomfortable. That’s where the “troublemaker” name comes from: a little boldness, a lot of heart, and the belief that change starts right here at home. This group is a space to connect, share resources, and take action — whether that means showing up to a school board meeting, learning more about an issue affecting our town, or just gathering for coffee and conversation. We host book clubs, educational events, family-friendly meetups, and more. You don’t need experience — just curiosity, compassion, and the desire to make a difference. If you’re frustrated by the direction things are going and want to do something about it — not alone, but together — you belong here.
