Welcome to our group of (mostly) women who are concerned about the future of democracy in Ohio and our country. We are not content to stand by and watch our beloved nation spiral away from a democracy toward authoritarianism. Join us to effect change on local, state and national levels! We support respect for one another, fact-based decision making in lieu of ideologies, and policies to enhance ALL of our citizenry rather than select groups. We encourage you to join our Facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/akronareawomenfordemocracy

Welcome! So happy that you have joined us. Make Good Trouble in Reno is a part of Red Wine & Blue's TroubleNation (check out their website here https://redwine.blue/). They offer a ton of great resources to educate and empower us. Our local group's goal is to create a network of like minded people in Reno to identify areas that we can be the most impactful. Ideally, aligning each of our strengths and aptitudes to needs in our community. We intend to leverage the efforts of existing organizations in our community that share our values. We are looking to empower one another to take action, have fun and have no regrets. We intend on meeting the third Tuesday of the month, 5:30-6:30pm, to discuss issues and create action items. Join public school advocates in Wake County to collaborate on support for public schools. We attend school board meetings and follow school board work sessions. We work in collaboration with pro-public school groups and individuals to inform our local school board about issues that are of concern to students, families and citizens in our county. Training for those wanting to speak at school board meetings or write letters to the editor are encouraged to look for training from three similar organizations that provide training and T-Shirts. We encourage wearing T-Shirts from these organizations, PTA, NCAE, or your favorite advocacy group to school board meetings, football games, shopping, etc. Red, Wine, and Blue NC https://redwine.blue/north-carolina/ Public School Strong https://www.mobilize.us/downhomenc/event/557516/ Defense of Democracy NC https://www.facebook.com/groups/dofdnorthcarolina Wake County has a long history of support for public schools. There are over 20 groups that support public education. Most of these groups have a social media component. It is our goal to support and collaborate with other groups to reduce duplication of volunteer time and effort and to provide strength to our community support. Public School Strong requires participation in a training before being admitted to the group: This group is for people who have already attended a PSS training. Public School Strong is a project of HEAL Together NC: https://www.facebook.com/HEALTogetherNC Next training dates here: https://www.mobilize.us/downhomenc/event/557516/ Or e-mail [email protected] to see if we can set up time for a one-on-one orientation date. If you have a group that you would like to add, suggestions for discussion, resources to share, or events to promote, please contact your moderators, Jen or Ouida.
