Welcome to the state-level group of SWEEP by Red Wine & Blue for Florida. SWEEP stands for Suburban Women – Engaged, Empowered, and Pissed! This is a safe (and brave!) space for all individuals who embrace inclusivity and reject hate and extremism. SWEEP Florida is open to all like-minded individuals looking to learn, organize, and band together across this state. "Get in good trouble, necessary trouble, and help redeem the soul of America." -- John Lewis I don't know if I'm the right person to start this, but I see a need for progressive activism in the IE. Let's start small and see what we can do! I'm passionate about the systemic issues, the ones that make it impossible to vote for the candidates I believe in; instead, I have to vote defensively, wasting a vote for change in the necessary effort to protect the rights we still have. I want to see rank-choice voting in every state, every state should sign the Interstate Compact, Citizens United needs to be overturned. If we can generate energy for these changes, we have a shot at actually making a difference!
