Local Groups

NW Stronger Together

We are a local group of activists in the mostly NE Portland Metro area, but have held events where anyone from anywhere can join. We are continually evolving as the chaos shifts. We quickly became focused on immigration issues as that seemed (and still seems) a pressing and urgent issue. We've held a movie event (Borderland) and a KYR training. We plan to hold other training events in the future. We're also concerned about all other issues that impact all of our rights including abortion rights, common sense gun laws, LGBTQ+ rights, disability rights, environmental issues, women's rights, constitutional issues, democracy, etc. We go to protests, hold meetings and events, share information, etc. Please join us in this resistance!

Warriors For Democracy - We're Not Going Back

After we dust ourselves off and shed our last tears, let's regroup and come together to keep fighting for our democracy and our values. We can continue to make our voices heard. With so much out of our control on a bigger scale, let's keep focused on what we can do locally. Let's keep the record of our true history so we can pass it on to the next generation. Let's find a way to be the shining lights to help us all navigate through this darkness.

Cup of Sugar

As you all know, in Heather Cox Richardson’s opinion, our conversations with people really do create change. "Talk to neighbors and friends one-to-one," she often says. "That matters more than anything." Conversations can spark real change. We believe that talking one-to-one with neighbors, friends, and even everyday acquaintances—like your barista or mail carrier—makes a difference in protecting democracy. Our 'Cup of Sugar' recipe cards are tools for these conversations. Use them as conversation starters, sharing them when you talk to others. Together, let's protect democracy—one conversation at a time. When using trusted ingredients for a cake, we know the cake will taste good. Likewise, the ingredients for a democracy are laws and policies that protect freedom and the rule of law for all Americans. The purpose of Cup of Sugar is to offer a way to see the differences in the ingredients between HARRIS/Walz and TRUMP/Vance/Project 2025. Still, far too many Americans still do not know about Project 2025. Should Donald Trump be elected, most do not know what exactly will be served on every single kitchen table nationwide. Cup of Sugar cards are available to all TroubleNation groups. They are free as long as supplies last. It's something beautiful to give away. No postage needed! No uploading necessary. A card is just between you and me and just between you and yours. Which one of these recipes do you choose for your future? HARRIS/Walz or TRUMP/Vance? Which recipe will taste best for your future?
