The Real Majority Holyoke

*NEW GROUP*Holyoke, MA: Please join The Real Majority Holyoke to talk about ways to create appropriate avenues of community building and solidarity in the face of a constitutional crisis. We think any local movement in Holyoke needs to directly reflect the concerns of the community, especially our most disenfranchised and marginalized residents. It is important to acknowledge that many in our predominately Puerto Rican city have been oppressed by both parties. It is perhaps more important to recognize the level of risk is multiplied for most of our community. When they come for our neighbors, STAND UP FIGHT BACK. It is necessary to organize an opposition to the actions of the current administration which is local to our city but also is careful to avoid further harm to our neighborhoods. This page and group are not affiliated with any political party. Our cause is the equitable realization of those basic rights promised at the founding of our nation and resistance to further oppression. Women Defending Democracy-Western Fairfax

Women Defending Democracy – Western Fairfax brings together women who want to be informed, engaged, and intentional about their role as voters. We focus on understanding the policies, issues, and decisions that impact our daily lives—and turning that knowledge into action. Our members don’t just pay attention—we participate, organize, and vote with purpose. We learn from experts, gather in person and online, and equip each other with practical ways to take action—whether that’s advocating on key issues, supporting candidates, or mobilizing our communities. This is where information turns into momentum. The future of our democracy will be shaped by women who show up, get informed, stay engaged, and mobilize—and we intend to be those women. (The group is open to everyone, regardless of location; in-person events will be held in rotating locations around Western Fairfax - Burke, Centerville, Chantilly, Clifton, Fairfax, Fairfax Station, Herndon, Merrifield, Oakton, Reston, Tysons and Vienna)

Warriors For Democracy - We're Not Going Back

After we dust ourselves off and shed our last tears, let's regroup and come together to keep fighting for our democracy and our values. We can continue to make our voices heard. With so much out of our control on a bigger scale, let's keep focused on what we can do locally. Let's keep the record of our true history so we can pass it on to the next generation. Let's find a way to be the shining lights to help us all navigate through this darkness.

Misses On A Mission

Our mission will be to band together to fight against law-makers and government officials who are trying to take away our liberties and freedoms. In order to counter measures taken by the government to infringe upon our rights, we will do outreach, educate our community, protest, and otherwise spread the word in our region about our mission and about the dangers of allowing the government to take away our freedom and rights. We will also work to educate our communities about the importance of voting. We will help people register to vote, find their polling location, and help them determine who they want to vote for. We will door-knock, postcard, and hold two seasonal cookouts with a DJ, bounce houses, local vendors/businesses selling and giving away goodies, a raffle, face painting, and USA, voting, LGBTQ+, and local/regional themed craft tables.
