Local Groups
Civic Circle of the Pioneer Valley
Civic Circle of the Pioneer Valley seeks to bring local women together to build social connection and mutual support as we live our values and work collectively to bring about meaningful change in our society. So many of us give so much--to our communities, to our workplaces, and to the causes we care about--that we forget to recharge our own batteries and remember what motivates and inspires us. Created in partnership with the Red Wine & Blue (RWB) Network, groups like these are local communities led by volunteer organizers who want to bring people together where they live. The RWB Network provides the tools, training, and support to help these groups grow and thrive — while keeping community building at the center.

NHC Educational Justice
Our Mission Statement: NHC Educational Justice is a group of activists who champion honest and open policy and decision-making within our schools to promote a safe, quality and equitable education for all. We attend all New Hanover County school board meetings and most school board committee meetings - either in person or virtually. We communicate key discussion topics and issues to the community through our FB page - https://www.facebook.com/NHCEJ/ - and engage our local community through various call to actions (email campaigns, petitions, etc). We also assist our community through various levels of support - including speaking on behalf of staff at board meetings, assisting parents through the IEP and/or complaint process, amplifying voices of community members and other organizations, etc. We are a small group of 6 women who are parents and/or retired NHCS educators and we are passionate about strengthening and investing into our public schools. We want to connect with other like minded local community members as we expand the work we do.

We’re building community right in your backyard, with events and gatherings that offer opportunities for personal, professional, and political engagement and fulfillment. If you are looking for connection and joy, seeking inspiration or have some to share, we have a seat by our fire for you! Bonfire was created for women of all ages and backgrounds, but is not exclusive to women. Created in partnership with the Red Wine & Blue Network, Bonfire groups are local communities led by volunteer organizers who want to bring people together where they live. We gather monthly in member homes and local spots throughout The Springs where we lead with empathy, compassion, and kindness to build the community we want to live in. Lake County Liberty Lovers
We believe that community means looking out for one another—no matter who you are or where you come from. In a time where new government policies, ICE detentions, and deportations are impacting our friends and family, we refuse to look away. We stand firmly in the belief that every human being is equal and that democracy only works when we protect each other. Do you want to lend a hand? This is the place for you. Let’s prove that "neighbor" is a verb. Join us in making sure no one stands alone.

Cup of Sugar
Cup of Sugar exists to create small, durable rooms of attention where care, dignity, and relationship can be practiced under civic fracture and climate disruption, without scale, spectacle, or extraction. Citizenship, here, is practiced quietly—in decency, responsibility, and shared life. Cup of Sugar begins with a familiar gesture: borrowing something small from a neighbor. Not an argument. Not a program. Just attention. We offer brief reflections on everyday American life—moments of care, repair, and response that sustain democracy long before policies or positions take shape. In conjunction with Cup of Sugar, I began writing a publication titled NOTICINGS, which arises from living under civic fracture and climate disruption. NOTICINGS quietly rejects the idea that democracy or repair is a solo act, or that constant breaking-news outrage can sustain either. Democracy endures through shared attention to what is essential for care, safety, and dignity. To read more, please visit: https://gotcupofsugar.substack.com/
