Local Groups
Bonfire - Broomfield
Bonfire brings people together in real-world spaces, to grow, learn, and spark change — together, in person. We’re building community right in your backyard, with events and gatherings that offer opportunities for personal, professional, and political engagement and fulfillment. If you are looking for connection and joy, seeking inspiration or have some to share, we have a seat by our fire for you! Bonfire was created for women of all ages and backgrounds, but is not exclusive to women. Created in partnership with Red Wine & Blue’s TroubleNation, Bonfire groups are local communities led by volunteer organizers who want to bring people together where they live. TroubleNation provides the tools, training, and support to help these groups grow and thrive — while keeping community building at the center. Broomfield Bonfire is a values-aligned group of women committed to inclusivity, dialogue, curiosity, joy, authenticity, collaboration, justice, and democracy. Our monthly gatherings create space for meaningful connection, thoughtful conversation, shared learning, and local impact. Broomfield Bonfire meets on the second Wednesday of each month from 6:00–8:00 pm.

Upper Valley Voices for Democracy
In Heather Cox Richardson's 7-29-2024 letter, she recounts the moments in US history when Americans have experienced revolutionary moments. She ended with this: "When President Joe Biden announced just a week ago that he would not accept the Democratic nomination for president, he did not pass the torch to Vice President Kamala Harris. He passed it to us." She continued, "It is up to us to decide whether we want a country based on fear or on facts, on reaction or on reality, on hatred or on hope. It is up to us whether it will be fascism or democracy that, in the end, moves swiftly, and up to us whether we will choose to follow in the footsteps of those Americans who came before us in our noblest moments, and launch a brand new era in American history." The choice in November is a referendum on the two and a half century history of this country. Will we continue the too-glacial pace of making this a more “Perfect union,” or will we throw it away in favor of an autocracy that will carry out an extremist far-right agenda? Project 2025 is the comprehensive transition plan to deal a death blow to democracy. It includes policies ready to be enacted on Day One, recommendations for top positions in government, and a database of loyalists prepared to fill positions previously held by civil servants. During the first Trump administration, the former president was frustrated by patriots at all levels of government from generals to bureaucrats who would not do his bidding because it violated sacred, often constitutional, norms. These obstacles will no longer exist. Furthermore, the Supreme Court in Trump v. United States granted immunity for anything Trump does if he regains office. Let's make sure that Project 2025 never happens!

We propose a gathering of women who have the conviction that we ourselves can shore up the principles of our democracy and counteract fear by caring for and informing our communities. We will share information and support each other in rekindling the hope that founded our country. While the ascension of Kamala Harris is very encouraging there is much work to be done before she gets to that finish line! Good Trouble Upstate
Good Trouble Upstate is a community of women in Anderson and across the Upstate who believe in the power of connection, conversation, and courage. Inspired by John Lewis’ call to make “good trouble,” we gather to learn, share, and take meaningful action on the issues that matter to our families and our future. Whether it’s swapping stories over a glass of wine, amplifying women’s voices in local politics, or finding small but mighty ways to show up for each other — this is where change starts. Together, we’re building a better South.

Reading the Resistance
Welcome to Reading the Resistance, a local group dedicated to fostering meaningful change and empowering individuals who want to actively resist the harmful impacts of the Trump administration. Through a combination of decompression events, book discussions, and educational resources, we aim to create a supportive space where like-minded individuals can come together to learn, share, and take action. Our book club will focus on reading and discussing books from the banned book list, exploring themes of freedom, justice, and resistance. By reading these essential works, we encourage critical thinking, open dialogue, and a deeper understanding of the values we must protect. In addition to our book club, we will provide resources to help members stay informed and get involved in local activism. We'll share information on local representatives, provide strategies for effective advocacy, and discuss ways to take action in our communities to resist injustice and oppression. Join us as we stand together, read critically, and fight for the future we believe in.
