SPURRColorado

Who we are: SPURR (Social and Political Understanding of Reproductive Rights) was formed by three passionate women - a therapist, a documentary filmmaker and an architect who all benefited from safe abortions. The three were outraged by the Dobbs decision in 2022 which stripped the right to legal abortions, the first constitutional right ever to be rescinded. Our response? SPURR, an information platform that educates, organizes and "spurs" people into action. While we, along with many of our friends, feel fortunate to live in Colorado with its protections for reproductive rights, we understand the need to protect what we have and care for those in neighboring states who will be facing a healthcare crisis. We formed SPURR to curate and provide information, education, resources and opportunities for engagement for those who were equally concerned about the loss of this fundamental right. In doing so, we have discovered that we are part of an evolving nationwide, even global, effort of women helping women. Who We Are NOT: We are not a fundraising organization. We are not only women - we welcome men and people of all persuasions. We are not partisan, but we support candidates and organizations that protect and encourage a woman’s right to determine her own health care decisions. We are not experts - we are constantly learning and connecting with people who are experts to share this information with our community. We are friendly people. Please join us.

Central Coast Community for Unity

Welcome! We’re so glad you found us. What’s this about? We know many people who are concerned about the state of our democracy but don’t know what to do. We want to bring people together who are motivated and looking for ways to take action. Why should I join? Our hope is to create community so you don’t feel so alone. We also want to energize you to participate in collaborative action. Plus, we’re pretty fun people to hang out with! What if I’m too busy? We plan to bring attention to a range of action items from bite-size quick actions to larger-scale initiatives. We do not require any time commitment! Join us when you can to socialize or simply check your emails for action items that are compelling to you. Who can join? We hope to be a place where people feel safe and connected to one another. Because of that, we expect that members will be fully supportive of immigrants, LGBTQ+ individuals, women’s/reproductive rights, disability rights, and common sense gun laws. We acknowledge that women of color, particularly Black women, have shouldered a disproportionate burden of this work for far too long. We are committed to ensuring that we all do our part to advance diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice. While our group is led by women, we welcome people of all genders. What next? If this feels like the right fit for you please sign up to be a member. We’ll be in touch with upcoming action items and social gatherings!

The Northwest Resistance, Litchfield County, Connecticut

We are in Northwest Connecticut looking for like-minded people who want to band together to stand up against authoritarianism and extremism on all levels of government and protect democracy.; who want to protect our National Parks and Forests from the corporations and millionaires who wish to strip them of their natural resources and beauty; and individuals who want to help combat climate change. We want to help keep this nation free, protect women's rights and bodies; protect the LGBTQ+ community and all hard-working immigrants who help feed us. This country was not built on hate and fear: fear keeps us focused on the past and worried about the future. America was built on courage, hard work, standing up for what's right and an unwavering determination to create change for the greater good of all. I know it seems daunting; that's why we need you. Join the Northwest Resistance! NEW HERE? The Bridges

The Bridges brings people together across the Space Coast of Florida, where over half a dozen bridges connect our barrier islands to the mainland. So too, our group will dedicate itself to being a bridge in this divided county, bringing together likeminded community members to share, inspire and learn how to effectively connect with friends and neighbors across the political spectrum to find commonality, reduce friction, and return sanity to our local, state and national politics.
