Trump’s actions in impounding funds justify impeachment, conviction, and removal from office” (Today’s Edition Newsletter, 7/22/2025). So, our question is: How do you justify, as a sitting member of the U.S. Congress, allowing the head of the Executive Branch to repeatedly violate his oath of office to “preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States”? • Finally, the astonishing assault on the Capitol by partisans of the outgoing Republican President on January 6, 2021 stunned us all.  Shortly afterward, Republican Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell stated the obvious: “There’s no question – none – that President Trump is practically and morally responsible for provoking the events of the day.  No question about it.  The people who stormed this building believed they were acting on the wishes and instructions of their president.”  He then disgraced himself as a partisan equivocator by claiming that “we have no power to convict and disqualify a former office holder who is now a private citizen,” thus eliding the fact that Trump was the sitting President between January 6 and January 20, during which time a responsible leader of the Republican Party would have taken immediate action, as was done by responsible Republican leaders when the lawlessness of the Nixon administration became obvious to everyone. So, our question is: You have publicly stated your belief that Former President Biden was duly and fairly elected in 2020.  How can you continue to support and even praise President Trump when the whole premise of his claim to legitimacy is based on an outrageous lie – a lie that he continues to proclaim -- that he actually won the 2020 election?   We would, of course, prefer you to answer these and other questions at a well-advertised live and in-person town hall open to all your constituents in NJ CD-7.  If you are still uncomfortable with such a framework, perhaps you would be willing to meet with us privately at some time during the August recess?

TELL OUR HOLYOKE CITY GOVERNMENT THAT WE DO NOT WANT TO COOPERATE WITH THE ILLEGAL ABDUCTION AND DETENTION OF OUR NEIGHBORS.  On June 17th, 2025 The following resolution went before Holyoke city council  https://www.holyoke.org/meetings/holyoke-city-council-meeting-june-17-2025/ 70. Jourdain, Vacon- Ordered, that the following Resolution of the City Council be adopted and a copy be transmitted to the Department of Homeland Security and our federal delegation and the White House. It shall also be used by all departments of the city with their applications for federal funds and grants when necessary. 1. Holyoke is not a sanctuary city. 2. Mayor Joshua Garcia has publicly declared that Holyoke is not a sanctuary city. 3. The City Council hereby declares Holyoke is not a sanctuary city. 4. Holyoke adopted Ordinance 2-68 “No elected official, department head or other city employee shall issue any order that shall knowingly violate any law or regulation of the federal, state or local government or the Constitution of the United States, the Constitution of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts or the Charter of the City of Holyoke, or any lawful order of a court of competent jurisdiction. No such order given shall be valid or shall be enforced by the City of Holyoke or its departments.” 5. To the extent, Holyoke has been deemed a sanctuary city by the federal government for failing to comply with any federal law or regulation, the Department of Homeland Security should notify the Holyoke City Council and Mayor of its specific violation and what steps are needed to remedy. 6. The City of Holyoke and all of its employees and agents hereby agree to fully comply with all federal laws and regulations. To the extent the city, its employees or agents have or are violating any federal law or regulation, they shall immediately cease and fully comply. 7. The City of Holyoke requests removal from any identification of our city as a sanctuary city by any federal department or agency. The matter was moved to the  'Development and Government Relations Committee' which next meets on August 4 at 6:30 pm This is unacceptable. We must remind them who they work for.  We will be protesting at City Hall on August 4th starting at 5pm to be heard by councilors as they enter the building. This is the fight. When they come for our neighbors...

This means people with dangerous histories, like those convicted of violent crimes, domestic abuse, or stalking, could carry a concealed gun in states that wouldn't otherwise let them. It means that out-of-state visitors with no firearm safety training, no permit, and no background check would be allowed to carry hidden, loaded handguns within our borders.  Further, police often have no way to verify if an out-of-state permit is valid - - meaning they would be unable to confirm if a person showing a carry permit is a law-abiding gun owner. And because the legislation would even allow concealed carry by some people with no permit at all, out-of-state visitors could be armed without being screened by a background check, and law enforcement would have no permit to evaluate. It is vital to block this mandate. We must put pressure on Tom Kean Jr. to vote against this mandate.

What this Bill Does: It requires all school districts to adopt a local policy outlining how they choose books and especially how they will decide if a book will be removed from their library should someone challenge it. The law explicitly protects the staff involved from retaliation if they are following state law. We need to protect public school libraries, students, staff, parents, communities and Colorado. • Colorado STUDENTS  in public schools have had their rights to access information violated when books were abruptly pulled off shelves and out of classrooms without clear decision-making criteria. • Staff, board & community members in Colorado have been retaliated against for demanding the rights of ALL parents and ALL students are respected. • Colorado public school STUDENTS have been prevented from learning when resources were removed or denied to them based on the whims and narrow biases of a handful of people, politicians and activists. • Some Colorado schools, districts and communities failed to realize they needed a library policy until it was too late! • Colorado PARENTS have had their rights as parents DENIED by school boards and staff who DENIED their children access to information in their school and classroom libraries. • Political activists are being trained by extremist groups to sow chaos in public schools and districts, using book censorship and fear to undermine public schools and intimidate people. • Political activists in Colorado are exploiting weak or missing school library policies. • "Serial book banners" outside Colorado directed extremist groups in our state to use their lists of "objectionable books" to barrage and overwhelm our schools and districts. • Political operatives and extremists keep catching Colorado Districts, Schools, Board & Communities off-guard because policies don't exist.
