To: NJ-CD7 Constituents DEMAND that Congressman Tom Kean, Jr. vote NO to this mandate, as he has done in the past.

Tell NJ Rep. Tom Kean, Jr. to Vote NO on Federal Concealed Carry Mandate

As we continue to fight for common-sense gun legislation, gun extremists and their allies in Congress are working to build support for a federal Concealed Carry Mandate that will further erode gun safety laws in New Jersey and across the nation.

A federal Concealed Carry Mandate would force New Jersey and every state in the U.S. to recognize the concealed carry standards of every other state, even those that have dramatically weaker standards—and those that don’t have any standards at all.

Why is this important?

This means people with dangerous histories, like those convicted of violent crimes, domestic abuse, or stalking, could carry a concealed gun in states that wouldn't otherwise let them. It means that out-of-state visitors with no firearm safety training, no permit, and no background check would be allowed to carry hidden, loaded handguns within our borders.

Further, police often have no way to verify if an out-of-state permit is valid - - meaning they would be unable to confirm if a person showing a carry permit is a law-abiding gun owner. And because the legislation would even allow concealed carry by some people with no permit at all, out-of-state visitors could be armed without being screened by a background check, and law enforcement would have no permit to evaluate.

It is vital to block this mandate.
We must put pressure on Tom Kean Jr. to vote against this mandate.
