In-person Town Hall Requested with NJ 07 Representative Thomas Kean, Jr.
We, the constituents of New Jersey's 7th Congressional District, call upon our Congressman Tom Kean, Jr. to host an in-person town hall meeting as soon as possible.
As an elected representative of the people, one of a Congressperson’s primary responsibilities is listening to his constituents and answering their questions. Town halls provide a unique opportunity for constituents and their representative to engage in meaningful two-way discussion of issues facing the district.
- We, the undersigned, have questions and concerns about what is going on with the Trump administration – a barrage of at best concerning and at most illegal activities aimed at removing consumer protections by hamstringing the CFPB, making the basic American right of voting more difficult through the SAVE Act, gutting USAID funding for programs that benefit the country's safety, security, and standing around the world, cutting funding and staff at vital US agencies such as the EPA, NOAA, NIH, and CDC, and threatening our basic health and national security with alarmingly unqualified cabinet picks like RFK Jr., Tulsi Gabbard, and Pete Hegseth.
- We want an in-person opportunity to address our concerns directly with Congressman Kean regarding many issues, such as the including his vote on proposed cuts to social service programs, such as Medicaid and SNAP.
- We want to understand the Congressman's position on the actions of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) that have resulted in chaos within many essential departments and removed privacy safeguards from us all.
- We call upon Congressman Kean to insist that the executive branch not impound funds duly allocated by Congress.
- We ask him to protect our constitutional system of checks and balances to ensure that the Trump administration follows the Constitution and rule of law.
