We Ain't Buying It! Your Wallet, Your Power

If you just gasped in horror – not shop Target on Black Friday?! – let us explain why the campaign is centering on these corporations rather than any other billion-dollar corporation.

As part of Red Wine & Blue, you know that Target was one of the first corporations to cave to the Trump administration’s demands to dismantle diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives. It moved its Pride displays to the back of the store (or removed them entirely) and shuttered its DEI support programs.

Home Depot allows ICE to conduct raids on their property, targeting immigrant workers and customers. Amazon continues to underpay its workers, conducted mass layoffs this year to appease its shareholders, and is a major funder of Trump’s horrific destruction of the East Wing of the White House to build a golden ballroom.

All three corporations also post billions of dollars in profits every year around Black Friday – 20% of their total profits! We can send a huge message to corporations just by closing our wallets for five days.

We can tell every corporation that puts profits over people that we don’t care how big the sales are, how cute the new merchandise is, or how nostalgic the commercials – We Ain’t Buying what they’re selling as long as they support government cruelty.

Just a 5% drop in profits next weekend will force corporations to take notice, which is why Red Wine & Blue is joining the pledge! So next Thursday-Monday, instead of clicking add to cart, please shop local, donate to a good cause, or do something fun with the family, and tell Amazon, Target, and Home Depot that We Ain’t Buying It!

Will your TroubleNation group take the pledge together?
