WCPSS School Board Meeting

The Board of Education holds regular meetings, open to the public, as indicated on the board’s calendar. Meetings are held at the district’s offices at 5625 Dillard Drive, Cary, unless indicated otherwise on the meeting schedule. All board meetings, work sessions, and committee meetings are live-streamed on the WCPSS YouTube channel.

From one of our members, Beth, who will be in attendance tomorrow night: I will be at the school board meeting - If you can make it, we can always use positive folks supporting our public schools to attend as a counter to all the M4L folks. The agenda is pretty tame - but expect a good turn out of opposition folks since the threat from the Trump campaign to pull federal funding if school boards don't comply with their illegal EOs. Our Wake School board majority is working really hard to hold the line and fight for all students, teachers and staff despite these pressures. No need to speak - honestly presence is enough. Meeting starts at 5:50p tomorrow at the cary school board location 5625 Dillard Drive Cary. This in an interior event - with chairs available. Public comments come first in the agenda and you are able to leave when needed or come late etc. Listening to the garbage from the opposition folks can be very frustrating (infuriating honestly) but it's good practice in quiet resistance. Also for those not aware - Sam Hersey one of the school board members caught some viral attention prior to last meeting even having Elon tweet about him - so we are definitely on their radar and Wake is a target school for their efforts. The school board is one of the front lines for all of the EOs - immigration, trans LGBTQIA rights, DEI - all 3 some of the values that our schools have tried to make strides in supporting while providing the top education.
