Constitutional Amendment Series: Redistricting in VA

Virginia is going to be busy in the voting booths this year! VA state representatives have approved a constitutional amendment to allow the General Assembly to redraw VA’s federal congressional districts. Now, the decision goes to Virginia voters in a referendum in April to decide if the amendment will be added to our state constitution.
At this event, we’ll be joined by Loudoun County’s Delegate David Reid (HD-28), doing a deep dive into the amendment to understand what we’ll be voting on in April. Delegate Reid sits on the House Privileges and Elections Committee, which oversees constitutional amendments. He’ll speak on the legislative process, the nuance of this amendment, and the background behind this decision in the VA House of Delegates and the Senate.
Spread the word to your fellow voters to make sure we are informed voters this spring!
Stay tuned - Virginia will have 3 more constitutional amendments up for referendums later in the year, and we’ll have more information on those in the coming months.
