Join us as we demand to Defund Palantir, a private corporation, started by Peter Thiel on August 23!
Why?
By 2010, Palantir had become a favorite among U.S. government agencies involved in counterterrorism and fraud detection. They expanded into commercial markets in the mid-2010s, offering big data tools for finance, healthcare, and manufacturing.
Controversial contracts with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) drew scrutiny starting in 2017, especially regarding deportation tracking systems.
Most recently the Army bundled $10 billion in contracts with them for 10 years and now Peter Thiel has decided to get back involved in politics.
As a private corporation, billions of our tax payer dollars are going to fund:
• Surveillance & Civil Liberties Violations - Including ICE
• Militarization of Artificial Intelligence
• Collaboration with Foreign Governments - Including Israeli targeting of civilians
• Corporate Secrecy & Lack of Accountability
• Government Influence & No-Bid Contracts
• Use in Public Health Without Consent
• Policing & Predictive Analytics
• Worker Surveillance & Anti-Labor Use
