August Stand Up Saturdays in Westlake
Every day we are bombarded by news of yet more ways our democracy and the futures of our children and grandchildren are being dismantled. Come join others who are as frustrated and infuriated as you are as we stand together at our weekly peaceful Honk and Wave this Saturday, August 2, and all Saturdays in August! Bring a friend and spread the word!
· Time: 10:00 to noon. Stay the whole time or just drop by when you can!
· Location: Corner of Detroit Road and Crocker Road in Westlake-we must stay on the public sidewalk, not block other pedestrians, and stay off the Crocker Park private property.
· Parking: Please use the nearby parking lots. Park away from spaces typically used by customers of the local businesses and avoid the area next to the Farmers/ Market parking.
Bring signs that reflect what you are feeling and issues that are important to you! We have extra signs as well. There may be counter protesters and negative calls from passing cars. Please do not engage with them-that is what they want!
Stay hydrated and dress for the summer Ohio weather! We have both shade and sunny places to stand-or bring a chair!
Stand Up Saturdays is organized by a group of concerned citizens like yourselves who believe in the power and community building of peaceful protests.
