"A community learning call to expand our knowledge in the history and expansion of immigration detention in the United States and the profound harm it continues to inflict on our communities.

We’ll trace how detention centers became central to immigration enforcement, unpack the human cost for families and loved ones, and explore how detention undermines due process, public health, and community safety. With facilities expanding and policies shifting under the current administration, the detention system is growing in ways that demand urgent attention.

Together, we’ll connect national policy decisions to their real-life local impact. We’ll discuss what’s changing, what it could mean for immigrant communities where we live, and how we can respond with clarity, strategy, and collective action.

This space is about building shared understanding, strengthening our analysis, and preparing to protect one another amid escalating enforcement. Join us as we learn, question, and organize toward a future beyond detention."
