Protect Kids in CharlotteJoin 4:30pm Siembra NC Callwith Public School Strong!
Hi Kyle, For the last several years, our Mecklenburg Public School Strong team has worked to keep the kids of Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools safe from budget cuts and book bans. Now we need YOUR help to keep our kids safe from Border Patrol and ICE. Forty cars with Border Patrol agents arrived in Charlotte on Friday. Check out the picture below from right near a PSS member's house. There’s a lot we don’t know yet. But we do know when they showed up in Chicago, these masked invaders were willing to conduct operations outside and near schools, disrupting children’s ability to learn safely and snatching parents away from their children. So we want to get in formation NOW for what may come. It's time, y’all. All eyes are on our state. We need to send a strong message: North Carolinians do not allow our state’s children to be terrorized. Here, we believe all our children deserve to learn safely. Can you start making plans to get to Charlotte tomorrow, Monday or throughout next week? If so, please join public school supporters from around the state onSiembra NC’s Safe to Work, Safe to School Patrols CallTODAY at 4:30pm Click here for details and to RSVP
Please read the email below from Siembra NC for more information. Public School Strong believes that EVERY child in North Carolina deserves to learn and be safe at school. Now we, the Mecklenburg PSS team, are stepping up and inviting all who care about North Carolina's children to join us in Charlotte.

---------- Forwarded message ---------From: Siembra NC Siembra NC <[email protected]>Date: Fri, Nov 14, 2025 at 9:31 PMSubject: Show up for Charlotte | RE: Our new site to help immigrants assess their risks Dear Siembra NC Supporters, We know there's a lot of rumors in the air. But, what we know to be true is that around 40 cars with Border Patrol agents arrived in Charlotte Saturday afternoon. And, what we saw in Chicago from these same agents was a willingness to conduct multiple operations daily - even on Sunday. So, the math is harrowing but simple: with 40 vehicles in the convoy that arrived tonight, eight teams of agents could each conduct four or five operations across the Charlotte area daily. There’s a lot we don’t know. CBS News is reporting that this operation may only last a week. If so, agents will probably try to maximize the number of people they can snatch each day on their way to work or school. But, we don’t know if that’s true, or if the plan will change. We also know that in Chicago, weekend detentions were common. That's why we're getting in formation right away - and we need you. Here's how you can show up for Charlotte and everyone in NC: Can you make it to Charlotte as early as Sunday the 16th? Then join us Saturday, 11/15, at 4:30 PM on zoom to be part of Safe to Work, Safe to School Patrols on Sunday and Monday. Get more info & the registration link here. Be part of local ICE Watches and local actions happening over the coming week by joining our upcoming trainings Show up for people in Charlotte, either in the city or supporting remotely, by telling us how you want to volunteer here Share this social post with your friends to get involvedAnd if you didn't check out our site, read the email below, bookmark the site, and share it with your friends. We need you from every part of the state. Every North Carolinian deserves to get to school, work, worship and back home safely. Dear Siembra NC Supporter,
With news of a possible incursion by Border Patrol agents, we’re launching a new tool we’ve been working on to help immigrants get to school and work safely. All year we’ve watched workers be targeted and profiled, often apparently due to the vehicles they drive to work, and have heard many wonder, “how can I know if I’m at risk?”
OJO Obrero is a website designed to help immigrants assess their risks and learn the patterns that lead to an arrest, including in counties that have recently stepped up their arrests of immigrants to help ICE meet their quotas.
Just last week, the Newton Grove Police Department in Sampson County teamed up with ICE to pull over at least eight different cars full of people headed to work in Wilmington. Here’s a video about OJO Obrero you can share on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok or Bluesky. Everyone deserves to get to school, work and back home safely. We hope this will help, especially in Charlotte, which has been the focus on ICE traffic stops all year. We recently received a request for support from faith leaders in East Charlotte, whose congregants have reported feeling “terrorized” by ICE operations.
The website allows users to search by time of day and to see photos of the kinds of vehicles most often targeted by ICE. Please share it with your contacts who might benefit from it. En la lucha, Kelly, Siembra NC
