No Kings Mass Protest in Charlotte

Indivisible and other partner organizations are planning nationwide protests, including this one in Charlotte, to coincide with Trump's military/birthday parade in DC.
After you RSVP with us, please sign up with No Kings at https://mobilize.us/s/09Y1AI. You can learn more about the protests at https://www.nokings.org/.
Planning Committee Member Dawn Adams Miller has graciously offered to serve as the EMHN organizer contact for the Charlotte protest. Please contact her at 704-995-9092 or [email protected] to discuss meeting up with her at the event and for other details.
FROM THE PROTEST ORGANIZER:
"Due to overwhelming interest in this event, we have outgrown our planned location at Wilmore Centennial Park. We will now gather at First Ward Park for the 11:00 rally, listen to community speakers and then we will march through Uptown Charlotte! March route is approximately 1.4 miles. Join us for the rally, the march or both.

With limited free parking in the area, we are still encouraging attendees to use Lynx light rail to arrive at this event. The closest stop is 7th Street Station, a short walk from the park. There are several paid parking decks in the vicinity with 7th Street Station Parking Garage being the closest with handicapped parking. Additional portable restrooms will be present at the park for our event.
We are partnering with Drumstrong to provide rhythm and drums for encouragement and support during our march, and we will be offering some additional noise makers to you to use. Does your group have an interest in adding theater and/or excitement to the day? Reach out to us at [email protected] to coordinate additional partnerships!
We are committed to nonviolent action, and we expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with us. Signs and chants must not incite violence, and signs may not portray swastikas in any form. There is always an inherent risk to protesting.
Please bring water bottles, any snacks you may need and remember to wear your sunscreen! Additional water will be provided along with a first aid station. Marshals in neon vests will be available to answer your questions or assist along the way."
