Mountain Women Move Mountains, Thursday, January 22 meeting

Mountain People!
This Thursday we will meet at the Nederland Library community room. 5pm-6:45pm.
We have a big  and very focused task to do this Thursday. One of our members  has written a very powerful letter about the recent events, the lack of accountability for Ice, and the need for our congresspeople to look at their own culpability. We plan to send this letter to every Republican Senator,  Republican Congressperson, and the 6 conservative members of SCOTUS. That's alot of letters. Yes-about 270. At the Thursday meeting we will attempt to get this done. We will each be signing our set of letters, looking up the necessary addresses (Ela suggests that we use the addressees local/State office address as the "Mail to" and their Washington office address as the Return address.....or vice versa), stuffing, stamping and addressing envelopes. 
Ela will bring the printed letters, I'll bring the envelopes, I need everyone else to bring at least 1 book of stamps (20), their favorite pen, and whatever device ( phone or laptop) you want to use to research addresses. We'll have the list of names. We'll divide up that list based on how many people we have to help. We only have about 1.5 hours at the library so plan on getting to work right away.  People can bring munchies to share if you would like, but remember we do not have access to plates,napkins silverware...also don't want greasy fingerprints all over the letters. The library has a no alcohol policy. However....I am not going to check on what you might be sipping on out of your coffee mug or seltzer can. Just be discreet.
