Mountain Women Move Mountains, Sunday, September 28th Meeting. 5:00p.m.
Hello Mountain folks
This Sunday I am hoping to focus on some reproductive rights issues. Joan is researching the potential destruction of a warehouse full of birth control at a USAID facility. I am looking into RJK's plan to revoke the FDA approval (and deny access) of the abortion pills ( used safely by 1 in 4 women seeking abortions). We are both trying to find who to contact to push back on these issues. I also have a variety of other actions on immigration issues, public lands, requiring proof of citizenship to register to vote (yep- the SAVE act is up for a vote in the Senate).
There are also some Senators and Representatives who stood up for protecting immigrants
Roxy may speak about the "Moms Demand Action"(Gun control) advocacy group as they would like to build up a Gilpin County/Peak-to-Peak coalition.
There will not be a meeting on Sunday, October 5th.
