Monthly Meetup

We took a break in July but are back at it in August! Join us for our monthly meetup where the topic is public education!
With back to school just around the corner, the timing for this is very important. We have several informative speakers lined up, plus one amazing action you can take to help a local school with its school supply needs.
We will be collecting needed school supplies for Oakley Elementary School, based on a needs list they have provided. You'll have two opportunities to drop off supplies — the first at the meetup and the second at another event that is still in the works. Here is their list:
1. (This is a big #1 standing far ahead of the others.) Refillable water bottles. This year we provided plastic water bottles to students daily. The result of that is that we had very few headaches due to dehydration as compared to my previous experiences. Every grade has them on their list, but students will lose them constantly. If you have connections to a business that could sponsor these and donate a bunch, let us know.
2. Sturdy over the ears headphones (not earbuds)
3. Sewn (not spiral) composition books
4. Pencils
5. Kids scissors
6. Glue sticks
7. Sticky notes
8. Dry erase markers
9. Gallon Ziploc bags
10. Packs of colored pencils
Please bring whatever you can to the meetup, and stay tuned for more info on our second donation event! See you on August 2nd!
