MLK Day of Service

Beauty will save the world - and that's one of the reasons we have chosen to support the Octagon Center for the Arts during our MLK Day of Service. The Octagon is entering it's 60th year and they are in need of help with archiving materials This project will include sorting, organizing and filing pictures, newspaper articles, event programs and other materials. If you enjoy organizing, this is a perfect activity for you! And even if you don't consider yourself an organizer, everyone can sort! There will be snacks, great conversations and an opportunity to give back to a community organization that has been a steady presence in Ames for 60 years.
We have two shifts available - 10:00 AM - Noon or 1:00-3:00 PM. You are welcome to stay for both shifts if you are interested. We are also giving the option of eating lunch as a group between 12 and 1:00. We will order food together, or you are free to bring your lunch with you.
If you plan to participate, it would be helpful if you could RSVP using this link. It will help us plan for the day but anyone is welcome to join us, whether or not they RSVP. We hope to see you there!
