September 2026 LKN Troublemakers Meeting - Fall Kickoff!

What Now? Local Action. Lasting Impact.

LKN Troublemakers Fall Kickoff | September 14 at 6:30 PM

Summer's winding down, and it's time to get the Troublemakers back together!
Join us for our Fall Kickoff as we reconnect, have some fun, and turn our attention to a big question: With so much happening nationally, what can we do right here in our own community to create real, lasting change?

We'll be joined by two fantastic speakers bringing very different perspectives:

  • Cheryl Zando, COO of MoveOn, has more than 25 years of experience in grassroots organizing, campaigns and nonprofit leadership—from local elections to presidential politics. She'll share what she's learned about turning concern into effective action.
  • Eric Willoughby is a 20-year-old UNC Charlotte political science student and Huntersville community activist who will talk about something we desperately need to get better at: engaging and turning out younger voters.

Whether you've been with us all summer or haven't made it to a Troublemakers event in months, this is the perfect time to jump back in.

Come see some familiar faces. Meet some new ones. Enjoy a little Fall Kickoff fun. And let's figure out what we can accomplish together this fall.

Because lasting change starts locally.

Hope House Donation Drive
Under the current administration, rising prices and cuts to government services have resulted in more people within our communities needing a helping hand. That's why we'll be holding a donation drive for Hope House Foundation at our meeting on September 14, 2026. Hope House Foundation’s mission is to provide transitional housing and supportive services to women and children who are experiencing homelessness in the Lake Norman area in order for them to procure long-term housing and self-sufficiency. Hope House Foundation's tagline “Giving Hope, Changing Lives” reflects the belief in giving back to those in need in order to restore their sense of human dignity.

The organization's donation wish list is provided below. Anything you can bring to our next meeting would be greatly appreciated.
