Shannon Gallagher, East Coast leader for RWB TroubleNation, will be here in District 7 next week! We’re lining up four  in-person events to talk about the Special Election, organizing strategies, and how to use RWB’s relational organizing app, Rally. Depending on whether it’s a midday or evening event and the location, we’ll also head out to vote together.

There are four events - mid morning and afternoon this Wednesday and Thursday.  Interested?  Reply in comments and we'll share the details.

Our schedule is still being finalized — Shannon will arrive 11/11 Tuesday evening and depart Friday 11/14 around lunchtime.  The loose plan is brunch and an afternoon event Wednesday and again Thursday each lasting around 90 minutes.  We can add a breakfast Friday morning if there's interest.  If you'd like to host a house party or arrange a brunch with Shannon, please let me know right away.  I’ll share more details in the next couple of days.

We’ve never had a TroubleNation leader visit Tennessee before, but the RWB team understands how critical sending Aftyn to Congress is for the country that they’re pulling out all the stops. The Rally app has been updated to include voting plans you can share with friends, and there’s a special Thanksgiving Week campaign kicking off Monday, Nov. 24. They’ve even created custom RWB-style graphics for us to share on social media and in our messages.

We have the opportunity not only to flip a Congressional seat but to make a huge impact on what happens in this country from December 2 through the end of Trump’s term — whether we save democracy or slide into full-on autocracy; whether we continue to have elections, and if we do, whether our votes still matter. None of this is extreme thinking. Did you ever imagine the National Guard would be in Memphis, or rappelling from helicopters to abduct and zip-tie children?  Or Canada would be spurned by Washington?
