June 21 Firewall Meeting

Good Neighbors Getting It Done meets monthly with the Firewall, which is an umbrella organization for advocacy groups and activists who are building a metaphorical firewall to protect democracy. Firewall is a coalition of concerned citizens who support democracy and the rule of law that meets on the 3rd Saturday of each month at the UU Church of Amherst.
Light refreshments and conversation will be enjoyed from 9am to 9:30am. At 9:30 the Firewall will convene with an opportunity for groups such as ours to share burning issues and recommended actions for Firewall members to bring back to their communities. After meeting as the larger Firewall group, by 10:30am we will form breakout groups, and Good Neighbors will have the chance to meet separately to focus on specific actions and areas of interest. Those who plan to attend the 11am rally in Niagara Square do not need to stay for the breakout groups. Protesters are encouraged to bring their signs and are welcome to carpool from the church.
After the Firewall, the Justice Advocacy Team will open a Rainbow Cafe from 1-4pm to create a relaxing and comfortable safe space for LGBTQ+ community and allies for conversation and games. Like the Firewall, the Rainbow Cafe will be held on the 3rd Saturday of each month.
