July 19 Firewall Meeting

Good Neighbors Getting It Done meets monthly with the Firewall, which is an coalition of advocacy groups and activists who are building a metaphorical firewall to protect democracy. The Firewall meets on the third Saturday of each month at the UU Church of Amherst. The Firewall provides an opportunity for groups to share actionable information for Firewall members to bring back to their communities. After hearing from different speakers at the Firewall meeting, groups can meet separately to focus on specific actions and areas of interest.
At the July Firewall meeting, we will hear from two featured speakers. Victoria Ross of the WNY Peace Center will discuss how to keep safe when protesting. Faith Winship of Gender Equality New York (GENY) will discuss issues faced by the Trans community and share advocacy advice for allies.
Later that day, the Rainbow Cafe will be open from 1-4pm at the church as a relaxing and comfortable safe space for LGBTQ+ community and allies for conversation and games. Like the Firewall, the Rainbow Cafe is held on the third Saturday of each month.
Firewall is not affiliated with the UU Church of Amherst.
