How You Can Help in the Fight Against Gun Violence
Patty Tuttle, a member of Central Midlands Good Troublemakers since its inception, is also the local group lead for the national, nonpartisan organization Moms Demand Action. Patty has agreed to speak to our group about strategies (both personal and in public policy) that we can employ to fight gun violence. Patty writes, "We know gun violence is preventable and we're committed to doing what it takes to keep families safe!"
In further detail, Patty writes: "Moms Demand Action is a grassroots movement of Americans fighting for public safety measures that can help protect people from gun violence. We encourage state and federal legislators to pass stronger gun laws and work to close the loopholes that jeopardize the safety of our families. We also work in our own communities to encourage a culture of responsible gun ownership."

For her bio, Patty writes: "As a military brat, I moved to Sumter when I was 12 and consider myself "from" there. I graduated from Sumter High School and Clemson, then worked in Charlotte for a couple years before joining the Air Force. I moved around for several years, met my husband when we were stationed together in Germany, retired from the military after almost 21 years, then moved around a few more years before my husband also retired from the Air Force. We settled in Lexington in 2018. We have two adult children, and enjoy traveling."
