Thank you for being a part of this community! Let’s give a huge round of applause and appreciation to the Honorable Chuck Steinman for giving up his evening to share his knowledge of the judiciary — locally and beyond last Monday! And apologies to Shelly for making him late for dinner.

Below are highlights of upcoming meetings. PLEASE scroll down for details.
March 24 — GRIT FUSE (This a special sub-set of GRIT held on alternate Mondays from GRIT)
March 31 — GRIT “Regular Meeting”
April 5 — 50501 Protest held at Cobbs Hill Park
April 21 — Assembly Member Jen Lunsford
April 14th, May 12, or June 2 — Save the dates, one of these dates GRIT will be hosting a special guest.
April 14 or TBD — 5 Perinton candidates will each give us a short stump speech and then we’ll open for Q & A.

MAR 24 — GRIT FUSE 6 – 7:30 pm at Junction361
This a special sub-set of GRIT held on non-GRIT ‘regular’ Mondays and led by Sharon Klocek-Ibbotson.

GRIT FUSE will have its second meeting, with 5 clear, doable actions to support:
    • mindset change
    • reduce polarization
    • build a bigger tent to stand up for Democracy

MARCH 31 —  6 – 7:30 pm at Junction361
This will be a regular GRIT meeting with a focus on Protesting in preparation for April 5th’s peaceful protest at Cobb’s Hill.
- Presentation on protest “rules” and rights, plus various ways we can all protest
After participants can choose their path:
- Poster Making 
- Postcard/Letter writing
- GRIT Cafe

APRIL 5 — PROTEST 2:00 pm Cobbs Hill Park
50501 Movement and Women’s March are mobilizing to stop the MAGA assault on our country and Constitution. Across the nation, Americans are taking to the streets to defend our freedoms, our rights, and our future. When those in power try to silence us, we rise louder. When they attack our communities, we fight back—together. While details are still coming together we believe Indivisible is taking the lead on this locally with GRIT as support partners.

The theme seems to be “Hands Off!” Everyone is invited to build a peaceful, visible, and joyful answer to Trusk’s cruelty and recklessness. Nonviolent protest has led to major social change in American history and disrupted authoritarianism globally.

We FULLY understand that physically showing up at a protest is NOT for everyone. No judgement or shame if this is not for you.

APRIL 21 — ASSEMBLYMEMBER JEN LUNSFORD IS COMING BACK TO GRIT! 6 – 7:30 pm at Junction361

If you attended her GRIT chat on January 20th, then you probably share our curiosity and enthusiasm for hearing her take on the last few months. If you didn’t attend, Jen is a dynamic, dare I say entertaining, speaker with lots of smart insight. Please watch for more details coming your way in April.

CONGRESSMAN JOE MORELLE IS COMING TO GRIT! - DATE TBD

We don’t yet have a confirmation on the date, as his team is deciding between April 14, May 12th or June 2nd. So if you want to hear him in the intimate setting that is GRIT at Junction361, pencil these dates on your calendar. This will be an RSVP-only event. Invite and details to come. We will NOT be posting this on Facebook.

DEMOCRATIC CANDIDATES FOR VARIOUS PERINTON POSITIONS - DATE TBD
Whether you live in Perinton or elsewhere, this will be an interesting evening of local politics. Each candidate will have a few minutes to deliver their ’Stump’ speech and then we’ll open the floor to questions. We totally understand if you live outside the area (as I do) and skip this, but it could prove to be insightful as you look at your own local list of candidates. We are aiming for 4/14, unless the Congressman chooses this evening. Details to come.
