Good Trouble Bend July 30 Meeting

The national world is crazy, but wecan take local action, and there is plenty we can do. Let's plan to connect on Thursday, July 30th, at 7:15 pm, to discuss our future focus. My home: 3011 NW Tharp Ave, Bend.

In June, we decided that we needed to take a democratic vote to decide which 1 or 2 main topics the group should concentrate on (the list is in the minutes). It's likely one of the 2 topics will be the November elections and supporting local candidates. We also talked about deciding on Group-Building Actions we could take.

- Summary of the workshop on Isolation and Solitude for Seniors in CO. (Laurence) 

- Health Care for All (Mandy)- There is an ask to sign a petition ( I did) to continue pushing for the Oregon legislature to put this issue on the agenda.

- Protecting our Wilderness Areas: the administration is trying to weaken protection of Wilderness Areas. The ask from ONDA is to add a comment opposing the policies on the government website (did it, easy to do).

- Reminding people about the new Civic Assembly focus on AI for the Fall of 2026 and how people can participate by answering this poll here.

We will celebrate summer too!
