From Medina to the Pentagon: A Conversation with Rear Admiral Janice Hamby

Join us for a special evening with retired Rear Admiral Janice Hamby, a Medina native whose distinguished career took her from Northeast Ohio to some of the highest levels of leadership in the United States Navy and Department of Defense.
Rear Admiral Hamby served for more than three decades in a variety of command, technology, and national security roles, culminating in her position as Deputy Chief Information Officer for Command, Control, Communications and Computers (C4) and Information Infrastructure Capabilities in the Office of the Secretary of Defense. Throughout her career, she helped shape the Navy's information technology and communications capabilities, led organizations around the world, and played a pioneering role as one of the first women assigned to serve on naval combatant ships.
During this engaging conversation, Rear Admiral Hamby will reflect on her journey from Medina to the Pentagon, share lessons learned from a lifetime of service and leadership, discuss the evolving role of technology in national security, and offer insights into breaking barriers, leading through change, and serving with purpose.
Whether you are interested in military history, leadership, technology, public service, or the inspiring story of a hometown trailblazer, this event offers a unique opportunity to hear firsthand from one of Medina's most accomplished leaders.
