Book Hunt and Dinner at Reston Town Center

Independent Bookstore Day is April 25, but we're making it last all weekend 😊 

NoVA CAT is celebrating our love of books in Reston Town Center. We'll begin with a book hunt at Scrawl Books, where we'll seek out books to add more diverse voices and stories in our bookshelves. And then we'll have dinner at Makers Union a few blocks away.

At 4 pm we'll meet at Scrawl Books at 11911 Freedom Dr, Reston, VA. (The best parking option is the Green Garage at 11936 Freedom Drive, which is free on weekends.) Each attendee will receive a sheet called a Book Hunt, which is a like a scavenger hunt for different books within the bookstore. The Book Hunt will ask for titles that have certain characteristics, like a children's book about a sea creature. Attendees will search the bookstore for a book that fits the characteristic and write it on their sheet.  We'll each leave with a sheet full of book recommendations that we may want to explore.

(No purchase is necessary at the bookstore, but it sure would tickle Scrawl!)

At about 5 pm, we'll move our gathering to Makers Union at 1811 Library St, Reston, VA 20190, which is only about a 5-minute walk away. We'll have dinner and chat about what books we found.
