On August 26, 1920, the 19th Amendment was certified in the United States, enfranchising women with the right to vote. Women's Equality Day is a national day of celebrating the importance of the women’s suffrage movement and women’s work to secure and expand equal rights today.
Let's channel our inner Bella Abzug! Known as Battling Bella, her campaign slogan was, “This woman’s place is in the House ... the House of Representatives ” Have a credit card, a paying job, or big aspirations? Bella Abzug laid the foundation for much of our lifestyle as women today. Our own L.M. Elliott will share a short, empowering history, and then we'll get to the evening's entertainment. Come join in!
The cost to participate is $40 per person. You may bring friends or even teen kids, but not under 12.
