August 14th, 2025 Hope In Action PA Meeting

We will be hosting the Dauphin County Democrats Legislative 106 Leader, James Carter, who will share a presentation on family & politics.

We are going to try offering a Zoom option for this meeting to see if it's possible to do a mix of in person and virtual. Please reigster in advance so we know how many to expect via Zoom.

a. Sep Social – need 1-2 people to take lead & plan (Sharon volunteered - need at least one other person to help)

i. Incorporate more social activities – people attend as they can and want

b. Mission

i. Review, Temperature Check, Focus on Actions & Joy

c. Keep 2 meetings per month for advisory

i. Consider meeting location, day & time

ii. Think about your interests, your priorities, and what actions/activities appeal to you

iii. Organization is important to promote action; taking action to help feel hopeful & joyful

1. Think about a functional area you are able & willing to organize/lead for 3 months at a time. Functional areas will give 5-10 minute report at planning meetings

a. Functional areas to consider are

i. Outreach

1. Social media

2. Events

ii. social activities,

iii. voting information including school boards, judges, and ideas on how to share information

iv. politics

v. Newsletter

vi. Community service, including the donation ideas raised at previous meetings

vii. Sign-up sheets/follow-up

viii. Consider other areas to discuss at next meeting
