April 20th LKN Troublemakers Meeting

Mark your calendars for our April 20th meeting!

We’re excited to welcome Jane Hoffmann, President of the League of Women Voters of Charlotte Mecklenburg, who will be joining us to talk about how everyday citizens can play a meaningful role in strengthening our democracy, especially as we head toward the upcoming midterm elections.

The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan organization that has been helping citizens exercise their right to vote since 1920. Their mission is simple and powerful: Empowering Voters. Defending Democracy.

The rules and requirements around voting seem to change every election cycle, and many people become frustrated or confused and simply drop out of the process. At this meeting, you’ll learn practical ways to get involved.

Jane will walk us through real volunteer opportunities where you can make a difference, including:

• Getting trained to help register voters at community events
• Helping educate voters about candidates, voter ID requirements, and key election dates
• Helping voters confirm their registration and make a voting plan
• Advocating for policies that ensure fair and accessible voting
• Organizing or supporting rides to the polls
• Participating in Get Out The Vote postcard campaigns
• Planning or volunteering at candidate forums
• Working phone banks to encourage voter participation
Canvassing underserved neighborhoods
• Serving as a poll worker during early voting or on election day

If you’ve been looking for ways to get more involved, this is a great meeting to join in

Please RSVP. Space is limited!

Let’s make some good trouble together.
